Street Upgrade
The Wilkinson Crescent road upgrade project in the City of Portage la Prairie consisted of 1.6 km of residential collector curb and gutter road reconstruction. The existing road had very poor, almost nonexistent longitudinal drainage and a very distressed road surface. The road, located along the edge of Crescent Lake, had very poor saturated subgrade conditions.
The challenges of the reconstruction were to provide suitable longitudinal drainage while maintaining drainage for the fronting properties. The pavement structure was designed to provide a durable pavement in saturated subgrade condition. The land drainage sewer along Wilkinson Crescent was upgraded as part of the project.
