San Clara (Now in the RM of Shell River), Manitoba, Canada
Lagoon and Constructed Wetland
The RM of Park required a sewage lagoon with a septic tank truck discharge spillway for San Clara and the surrounding area. Geotechnical investigations were completed for the siting the lagoon. As the soils had insufficient clay content, a geomembrane lined lagoon was designed.
Engineering services were provided for a comprehensive pre-design report and an environmental submission to solicit a licence from Manitoba Conservation. Environmental approval was received and a constructed wetlands was designed for the discharge of the treated effluent. The constructed three-cell wetland provides additional nutrient reduction.
